Fat Kitty Ramen is one of those Alberta spots I’ve noticed for a long time but hadn’t tried yet. I always meant to try it, and I finally did — in the most “me” way possible: takeout. I’m a bit of a homebody, so bringing it home just made sense.
Ordering was quick and easy. No long wait, no fuss, no pressure to sit and dine in. Just a friendly handoff and I was back in my car with a warm bag that smelled promising.
The ramen itself was exactly what I look for. The broth had real depth, the noodles held up, and everything felt balanced. Nothing too salty or too heavy — which is harder to find than it sounds. Some bowls are great, some are just okay, and some miss the mark entirely. This one landed in the “I’d order this again” category.
I like supporting businesses in the neighborhood when I can. Takeout isn’t something I do all the time, but when I’m in the mood for ramen, it feels good to choose a place that adds something to Alberta rather than grabbing something random on the way home.
If you have a ramen spot you love in NE Portland — or a dish that’s worth staying in for — let me know. I’m always looking for the next bowl. People joke that I’m the ‘Ramen Realtor.’ I’m okay with that.
